Abide by club requests; follow guidelines, max No 30 members
Must be a member to use beach for traction activities.
No more than 12 buggiers/boarders to be operating at any one time.
All new members will be assessed qualified instructor and will be expected to reach a competent standard of flying to gain access to the club. The same will apply to any floating day members, subsequent training will be given and updated to ensure all user’s maintain a high standard of flying and buggy control to keep within any amendments or guide lines advised by the powerkite sports federation or from any other organisational bodies.
The club will have the right to refuse membership to anyone that’s not suitable.
The Club will be designed to suit the needs of local kite buggy/board riders.
Respect and harmonise with the other beach owners/users and authorities such as the RSPB, English Nature, National Trust, The Local Council and the Common Right Holders, without their consent we would not be here now.
Have valid 3rd Party Liability Insurance (BPKA or BKSA),
Buggy & Board only in designated areas and walk to that area. Access is via Brancaster Beach car Park only.
There should be no advertising or promotion of the site as a venue for buggy/board riding.
Stay out of the dunes, do not buggy/board in them or launch and land your kites in them.
Stay out of the sand/gravel area behind the dunes in and around the concrete bunker and do not buggy in that area.
Minimise all use of soft sand area along the dunes, have one collective area for equipment storage.
Stay off the wet areas on and around low water line, these are the main feeding grounds for migrating, wintering and nesting bird life, please keep approximately 200 metres or more from the water line.
The whole site is covered by a number of nature conservation designations that give special legal protection to its habitats and wildlife. Please respect wildlife on the site and avoid concentrations of birds if these are present.
Stay away from any cordoned off areas as these will sites of nesting birds and will need extra caution.
Stay off the peat area, as this is an area of historic woodland, and this explains why there is a strange muddy clay area in the middle of the beach, if you were to dig deep enough you would find a whole lot more and also explains why you will occasionally see little lumps of peat washed up on the high water line!!!!!
Avoid fishing nets and associated equipment, such as ground stakes and sand anchors and of course the fishermen.
Do not leave any mess at the buggy site such as food stuff and litter.
Respect all other beach users.
Do not leave any un-used kites set out with lines stretched out on the ground.
Always assess the site for wind direction and safety when setting up for launching and landing, use help if needed.
Always sand your kite down with an ample amount of sand.
Always respect and give adequate space to other beach users even though they may enter into the buggy/board area.
You will be accountable for your own actions and will be held accountable to keep a sensible approach to other beach users.
To record any incidents that may involve any other beach users, such as Bird watchers, walkers, dogs, fishermen or horse riders to name but a few.
You will only fly in the area indicated on the map. From the 2 posts to the estuary.
If you fly outside of this area you understand that you could loose your membership.
If asked by a warden to fly in the indicated zone you will do, other wise we have the right to terminate your membership.
